Following on from the previous blog, where by we were focusing on the ideas list and coming up with as many concepts as possible, we have somewhat progressed massively from that stage. This week has been full on but very very important for the lead up to the tissue meeting with Shelter our clients next Tuesday. It has been a week where we have collaborated efficiently as a team, to organise and get each of the little nitty tasks completed.
On Tuesday we followed on from the previous week as a group. We kicked off by looking at our long list of ideas, then collectively picking out the strongest ones. We picked out three which already we all decided where the three we were going to develop into more. These three ideas were Rush Hour, Pixel Rush and Block Rush.
Rush Hour : A concept which was built on the insight of commuting being boring, long, dull and a real pain. We came up with this concept working by having the user go up against their usual commute time by racing their preferred use of public transport. This would be an app where it would calculate for you an alternative route, which would cut your commute time, also adding gamification to the concept by competing against the machines!
Pixel Rush : A concept which was built on the insight that your usual workout or running routine can become extremely dull over time. We thought of this playful concept where users would have the ability to draw their own running route, calculating the distance and how long it would take again. Also there would be a whole range of objects which you could use as a running route depending on the season of the year. For example during the Christmas period, you could one evening go running round a route in the shape of a Christmas tree. Adding playfulness and creativity to it. The other element was to allow people that sponsor you, depending on how much they donate for example £15, they would then be granted with a certain amount of 'ink' to draw you a route in any shape or form. This in turn would mix the whole running routes up for you making each run more interesting!
Block Rush : This third concept was built on the insight that everyone is competitive in their own way. We thought of an idea based around the capture flag game but using areas in London Virtually. You can either go solo or join up with a team with your friends or office! It is simple you just have to run as much as you can around as many areas as possible to hold down that area! The more money you raise the longer your virtual shield remains active for that area! This we felt would target mainly men being a territorial type concept, also we came to the conclusion, the target market for Shelter was Corporate
